By leveraging our team's extensive knowledge, experience and networks, combined with a stringent research process, we ensure that only the very best and most suitable private investment opportunities are presented to clients. This level of care can take months of research, and while we do our best to minimise the cost passed onto clients, we do need to charge a nominal fee to help offset the time and effort required to ensure no stone is left unturned.
Our exceptional due diligence
Our dedicated in-house team of investment professionals and governance experts meticulously source and screen a wide range of opportunities, eventually selecting only those that pass our rigorous financial, legal and operational due diligence tests. All investments must be formally approved by our Investment Committee, Responsible Managers (nominated people within the business who have the knowledge and skills required by ASIC to assess and demonstrate the organisational competence of the business), and where the raise is in excess of $10m, the Partners Wealth Group Board of Directors. Our process ensures that only the best investments get offered to clients.
Inevitably this level of care and scrutiny means that most investment opportunities that come across the desk of the Partners Private team are immediately deemed unsuitable for our clients, but it is this level of due diligence that separates us from other investment firms, and what gives our clients confidence and peace-of-mind.
Our ‘source, screen, select’ process can take many months to complete and draws on the expertise of specialists spanning investments, legal, risk and compliance.
Less regulation around private market investments means that many distributors of wholesale investment opportunities do not undertake such rigorous research and screening. This places greater onus on the investor to conduct their own due diligence. Partners Private does the groundwork so that possible risks are identified, assessed, and communicated to enable investors to make more informed choices.
The diagram below provides a summary of the scope of our ‘source, screen, select’ process, beginning with the vast number of possible investment opportunities available in the investment landscape (100,000+) which eventually get filtered down to only 10-15 investments that pass our due diligence process each year and are then offered to clients.
Cost versus value: Putting a price on peace-of-mind
While we do our best to minimise the cost passed onto clients, we do need to charge a nominal fee to help offset the time and effort required to ensure no stone is left unturned. This is no different to paying a doctor, lawyer or any other professional service provider for their expertise.
When you invest in a Partners Private investment opportunity you will be asked to acknowledge and accept our referral fee which is a one-off upfront percentage on capital invested in the fund. This nominal fee helps us offset the costs associated with maintaining such stringent due diligence and ongoing monitoring of performance. Without this, Partners Private could not provide such unique offerings to clients.
